Community Relations is the strategic development of mutually beneficial relationships with targeted communities toward the long term objective of building reputation and trust.

21st Century Fox is a supporter of the Ghetto Film School. The Ghetto Film School is a non-profit organization based in New York. There objective is to teach filmmaking to young people from low-income neighborhoods. With FOX's help the organization is expanding to Los Angles for the first time. The Co-COO of 21st Century Fox James Murdoch says "Its about giving them a sense of self and ambition of what they can accomplish."

Everyone has seen the television shows Glee and Modern Family. In both of these television shows gay rights and equality is very prominent. These shows have and impact of real life. Fox is a big supporter of LGBT community, especially in youth. Both Glee and Modern Family were honored for shaping Nation LGBT conversations. Fox's new show Empire, is also involved in gay activism.

There are several other aspects of Fox that show community relations. Fox has teamed about with DoSomething.org to help fight for arts education. The sports side of Fox is very important. #FoxSportsSupports is the charitable division of Fox Sports.

When there is a cause to be recognized, Fox is usually one to address it. There is a lot of support shown through there television shows and the impact that they have on everyday life which helps Fox with community relations, Fox Sports is a big section of community relations. It is very important for Fox to reach out to their community and show how they support causes and other relationships.

Social Media

Everyone knows Fox, and if you have a twitter I am sure you follow them. Because there are different platforms to 21st Century Fox, they have multiple twitter accounts. There is the 21st Century Fox accounts, which only has 708. I am sure this account has such a low amount of followers because people are less aware that 21st Century Fox is Fox. The account also only has 42 tweets. They do not do a good job at updating regularly. On the other hand, the Fox News and Fox Tv accounts have a tremendous number of followers. Fox Tv has 867K with 9,214 tweets and Fox News has 4.8M followers with 194K tweets. Clearly these accounts update regularly. If you have a twitter and you enjoy the television shows that play on Fox then following this twitter account would be the right move on your part. It updates regularly and it tweets about individual TV programs that plat on the station. Fox News is also and account to follow. Now I know the Fox news has had their fair share of problems (which I will get into next time) but they are still a top notch news account to follow. As far as other forms of social media platforms Fox might be slaking a little. I don't think many people "follow" or track them on Facebook. I believe that Twitter is Fox's main schtick.

My name is Hally. I am a media studies major from New Jersey. I am a junior in college in Connecticut. Media has been a big part of my life, well for most of my life. I cant remember a time where Television was not in important part of my life. My friends call my the human IMDb. If you don't know what IMDb is it is the internet movie database. You go on it to search what films TV show, ect. actors and actresses have been in. There is a poster "Everything in Life I've Learned From Friends"...well thats actually true for me! I grew up on TV and I love films (and popcorn). My blog is going to be about 21st Century Fox, more communally known as Fox.

Fox is Americas #1 television network 8 of the last 10 years! How can you not like the television shows that play on Fox. Glee, The Mindy Project, American Idol, New Girl, Bones and how can we forget The Simpsons, thats going on to its 27th season. Fox is a successful multi media mass corporation.
